About This Hole
🎯
Choose your hand, club, and handicap. Want more control? Open Shape the shot to adjust shot shape, bad miss, swing choice, and wind. Then take 3 swings, keep your best result, and share it with a friend.
📍
The 17th at TPC Sawgrass is short, but tiny. From the tournament tees, it plays around 136 yards to the Sunday pin. The green is surrounded by water, and even safe-looking misses can turn stressful fast.
💧
The Sunday pin looks attackable, but there isn’t much room around it. Miss short and you’re wet. Miss long and the back slope can leave a brutal putt. Even a shot that finds the green can still drift away from the hole.
Strategy Notes
Most tour pros don’t fire straight at the flag unless the wind is calm. They aim for the middle of the green, control their distance, and accept a longer putt. On this hole, boring is usually smart.
How You Compare
At The Players, even the best players in the world find trouble here. From the Sunday pin, the green-hit rate is roughly 65–70%, which means about 1 in 3 tee shots misses the green. If your best shot ends up dry, you’ve done something right.
